8 coil Shakti

(http://www.shaktitechnology.com/winshak ... /index.htm)
The 8 Coil Shakti is for:

* Spiritual and Personality Transformation; Overcoming Fear, Sadness, and Anger. Details . (Does not apply to diagnosed psychiatric disorders)

* Creating Intense and unique altered states of consciousness Details

* Enhancing Meditation (as well as other mind machines) Details

* Mood enhancement Details

Shakti uses magnetic fields with signals embedded in them for consciousness exploration, spiritual growth, mood enhancements, altered-state experience, and learning brain structure and function.

Your brain produces electrical signals as it operates. The 8 Coil Shakti applies magnetic signals to your head that mimic them. Because some brain structures have known 'signatures', they can be 'targeted' by applying their signatures as magnetic signals. Just as the brain has specific responses to specific chemicals, it also has specific responses to specific magnetic signals.

Interesting little device. Could be useful for a psychic investigations, but then again the altered states. I don't know.

I'm wondering if anyone has ever tried this neat little gizmo.

After reading the disclaimer, I'm not so sure I would want to be the guinea pig (not a patient in a psych ward, but wondering how it would affect nerve impulses to the spinal cord.)

Altered states....hmmm.

It got aired on Paranormal State so Ryan used it. While it seems the results were interesting the Altered state bit makes me skeptical. I'm open to the possibilities this device presents. It can probably also be used on a psychic to increase psychic potential, but at what cost?
shooting powerful EMF into very localized areas of the brain. I worry this kind of thing can lead to cancer or tumors of the brain.

I've just caught bits & pieces of PS; normally absent when it's aired, it looks interesting though.

What I'm really wondering is this:

1) If it mimics signals, wouldn't it be logical to assume that it will also intensify signals to all nerve functions?

2) If someone wearing this device has an undiagnosed medical condition, couldn't the Shakti most likely aggregate it (MS, cancer, autism, etc.)

Magnetic therapy has been explored for years in the medical field. Which is why I'm curious how much this device has been tested.... the discalimer leads you to believe it has not been thoroughly tested, the 'don't sue us' clause.

Lots of things can enhance experiences.....probably doesn't mean you should use them in extremes ;)

Like you, it sure looks cool, but is it safe?

If your looking for an altered state of being LSD would be a better choice. Least it doesn't lead to cancer, just stupidity.

I am all about experimental devices in the field of paranormal, otherwise I wouldn't be posting here. Until this device is better studied on the effects it has on human beings I can't really recommend it. I think this thing is nothing more then a personalized fear cage that gives false positives for evidence.

Overexposure to anything, UV rays, electromagnetic waves, etc. is harmful.

I could see how this device could stimulate senses to produce heightened sensitivity to touch, taste, feel etc, but beyond that, I wouldn't think it would be real safe.

I'm not real tech savvy, but wondering exactly what effect it's claiming to produce....it kind of seems like a hodgepodge of different results the user could have. But altered states of consciousness?

really the effects seem more like someone who wanted to reproduce being on an acid trip without actually taking acid.
