I'll post this here so no one here has to chase this question.

A Franks box or ghost box is a radio that constantly scans through the frequencies without stopping. while it is doing this the speaker is still pumping out sounds to the point it's a garbled mixture of sounds, voices, ect. In this garbled mixture ghosts can use the mixture to form words, or even speak through the box itself.

I just picked up a 12-470 tonight and modified it into a Ghost box. I'll be posting my thoughts and opinions on the sessions later. Hell you never know I might just get that d**med cowboy to answer.

LOL I'm not sure if it's a ghost or not but I just got told by the ghost box I'm hearing voices.

I've had quite a bit of success with mine talking to Oscar. Oddly, I had never been able to get him to produce a traditional evp. The other thing that strikes me is that I frequently get the same voice for him, and it is the same voice I'd heard on the times when I did hear him using his own voice in my head.

Good luck with your experiments! They do have a sense of humor.

Abbey how do you have it setup to take the audio into your computer? Is it directly linked or do you have a mic near by?

I have a headset with a built in microphone, and hold the ghost box a couple of inches away from the mic while recording.

Ahh good idea, I'll be watching for posts on how your both getting on with your boxes, if you get too much outside contamination from all those mixed frequencies flying around or not; to prove or disprove the validity of the use of such equipment for investigations etc...

Hey, like I said, i'm full of questions:::: If it's pulling frequencies from everywhere, does that also mean it's pulling frequencies from CB's and police radios too? The reason why I ask is, if that's the case, then it might be an explaination as to why you'd hear yes, no and werid number combinations etc...

I look forward to hear how you guys get on with this as it's highly fascinating.

xx

No this only picks up frequencies from the radio station/TV bands. It doesn't go into the emergancy frequencies or low level walkie talkie frequencies.

Your not dumb, it's good to ask questions. Not enough people do. I'm going to try the box out during my long drive to Cheyenne tonight, maybe a session with a recorder if I'm getting something without. Then next week I'll post up some results (if any).

I have two places I want to try getting something on the box. I'll mark any that I take in the car, and any I take in my home.

Having the interference as a base for the spirits to pull off of is kind of the point of this kind of device. As far as I'm concerned, the real degree of validity in it is found in the coincidence factor of how relevant the answers are to direct questions. I don't give a whole lot of weight to yes/no answers, but when I'm getting a spirit to correctly repeat things back to me in Chinese, the statistical probability of that happening by chance is too low for me to brush it off as coincidence.

I do already have a bunch of my recordings and observations up at www.eeriecanal.org under Ghost Box Communication. I've slowed down on the research a bit, though, due to my free time getting sucked up with home repairs. I'm also getting fussier about the quality of recordings that get posted. There's only so much point in posting a bunch of yes/no answers.

I finally got the darn file to come through. The ghost box part was actually very quiet, so I was having a hard time hearing it. When you ask what they missed most from their former lives, I think I might have heard "pizza", which as I understand it, is kind of an in joke on the other side. What were you hearing?

I didn't hear anything, thats why I didn't respond. Though it wouldn't surprise me. My first session (unrecorded) had come up with 5 spirits coming through. Though when I asked for thier names I didn't hear anything. however I think I heard twenty years when I asked how long they had been departed.

BTW I find Pizza to be very interesting. considering at the time i was heading to work in cheyenne. Wearing my uniform for Sbarro's pizza.

Well, if you're the pizza guy, they must love you! =)

Don't think you are necessarily missing something if nothing comes through during a session. A lot of people find that they go through streaks with the communication - sometimes they get days of nothing, then will go through another few days where they are chatty as all get out.

Whoa! You are doing well! I was definitely hearing what you were for the most part, although I only heard "help" instead of "helpme" in the first one, and "twelve" instead of "help" in the second one. Isn't twelve the number you picked up on in the earlier recording you'd sent me?

Good job! =)

yes it was.

I didn't put it in, but I caught it saying nihou like 4 or 5 different times. It really dug that word. going back through I can hear twelve instead of hello.

I accidently deleted the file that was just the mic running without the ghost box or even me around. I had caught two EVPs one was of a heavy sigh (while I was up stairs, you can hear me bumble around.) The other was of a growl
