Had an Interesting Psychic Experience yesterday

I was at a Historical Society Luncheon Meeting, to sign up to become a Member, well I met this Lady that I had Never before met or seen before in my entire life, She started talking about her connection to a favorite place of mine from my last lifetime, the St. James Hotel.
Well, when she said that, I started to "read" off her Energy and the energies from that place, that presented themselves to me.
It just came like a "Tidalwave" of Information. Before I knew what was happening, I was doing a Reading.
There was a Table Full of Witnesses, to boot.
I just could Not stop the flow of info, once it started coming.
It surprised and startled me, to say the least, that All of my information was that Accurate (confirmed by the Lady I did the "Reading" for).
Yes, I had seen Programs about the St. James Hotel, yet knew only the Stories that were presented, but none of the other surrounding information regarding it.
All I can say, is that I am just still coming down off of the Energies that I was presented with.
This Lady says she and I know eachother from a Past Life. I told her, likely so, but where or when, I could not fully ID at that time.
We exchanged Contact Info and intend to get together at some later time.
Maybe continue to compare Notes on what we know.

{Just so Everyone here knows, I Do Not Normally do this for Anyone.
I am Not a Practicing Psychic and it shocked and surprised me just as much as it did the person I did the "Reading" for, along with the Witnesses present.}

What I want to know is, has this ever happened to anyone else here?
I am Not sure what to do with this Ability that seems to be starting to "open up."
Can I harness it somehow, to use it to help others?
This seems to happen extremely Randomly, so I don't often know when this will happen nor with whom.
When it does, then I often cannot stop it until the full message is out.
In Public, I try to turn my Aura and Energies down, so that I don't say anything that might make me look silly or crazy.
Any info on how to best harness this would be appreciated.

I get the Tidal Wave effect on occasion, especially at one old inn that I go to a couple of times a year.

Are you looking to increase your abilities in general or to turn them down when they get like that? The best thing you can do to improve them is to meditate a lot. Learning to quiet your mind in general will help you to hear when information is coming through.

Another good way to get your skills up is to practice them. A lot of people like to do this by taking "how psychic are you?" kinds of tests. Those haven’t worked so well for me because that puts me into too much of a test mindset – the pressure is on and my abilities freeze up.

What has worked better is to play what I call “The Museum Game”. This consists of going to a museum or antique shop and seeing what I can mentally pick up about the objects there. This puts me in a more relaxed frame of mind because I like going to museums and antique shops anyway. The objects also often have strong vibrations attached to them from someone having worn or used them over the years. I just reach out to the object with my mind and see what images or thoughts start to flow. The only drawback to this is that there usually isn’t any way to verify what you are picking up on to give you feedback on how well you are doing. The plus side is that likewise takes the pressure off. Once you get more comfortable with your abilities, you can always move on to situations where you can get feedback on how well you’re doing. Also keep in mind that even the best psychics only have about an 80% success rate. If you aren’t correct about everything, that’s par for the course.

If you want to tone down your abilities, you can build a filter into whatever kind of psychic shield you use. Then imagine that it has a knob you can turn to allow in more or less information as is comfortable for you.

Well, I want to be able to control it, to the point of where I am Not constantly "reading" off of everyone else's energies.
Too much information just sends me into a bit of a bad state of mind and moodiness.
I don't do the "Psychic Tests." Too Random for my liking. Cannot concentrate.
Museums, I also tend to get the "Tidal Wave" effect.
Everyone comes to me, begging to get their stories told.
Usually, I just "turn down" my aura, trying not to let Everything in.
There are those few rare occassions, where I can "Open Read" people.
The energies just connect.
Although I don't care to make it a Rule of my abilities, that I do this with Everyone, as I think it too taxing, especially with other things on my mind.

Yep, you definitely need to work on your shielding. If my explanation didn't make sense, there's a ton of information on how to do psychic shielding on the web.

There's another similar technique called cloaking that may help in the museums and situations like that. You just imagine putting a cloak over you that prevents anyone from seeing your aura unless you specifically want them to.
