Postby bellace on Fri Mar 21, 2008 7:25 am

ok....just like our fav movies...only what movies would you seriously NOT recommend?

I thought "Napolean Dynamite" was one of the worst movies ever!! A couple of girls i used to work with RAVED about it for months and bullied me into watching it.

All i can say is that i cant believe I sat through the whole thing!! It was sooo stupid and boring!!

I would have to say "I Now Pronouce you Chuck and Larry".

Even though this was a baad rip off of the Australian Movie Strange Bedfellows, it did nothing for me. It must have been an embarrassment for the stars to be associated with this movie.

Punch Drunk Love. I know a lot of people loved it, but it is the first movie that irritated me enough to walk out in the middle of it. It was either that or start screaming "Go see a shrink already!" It didn't help that they blamed his mental problems on his sisters. Why is it supposedly always some woman's fault if a guy's screwed up? Oh, yeah, I forgot. Women are bad.

The Royal Tennebaums was a close second for similar reasons. I deal with enough highly disfunctional people in daily life. I don't need to waste $8 to watch it on the big screen.

Thanks for the tip about I no pronounce you chuck and larry. I've been debating whether or not to watch it...it looks a little boring

for me:
any 'comedy' movie that is nothing but one gross joke after another.
Jackass
Highlander 2: The quickening
return of the living dead(all of them)

i actually found Behind Enemy Lines with Owen Wilson lame too. I cant put my finger on it exactly...but the hole movie "irks" me for some reason....especially one part where it looks like a bad commercial for a car ad where there are tanks and soldiers everywhere...and this one new, shiny 4wd drives through them all, and parks...so lame!! lol

I find anything with Simon Pegg in to be really boring "Shaun of the Dead" "Hot Fuzz" and "Run Fat Boy Run!" I'm not a fan of anything Richard Curtis has directed either, examples would be "Love Actually" "Four Weddings.." and "Nottinghill" I just loathe romcoms really.

Over the years, hearing all the rave reviews and seeing the list of awards and then being disapointed by a movie that has no story line or no ending has had it's affect on me - so much so that my partner and I now have a new rule, if it's got any sort of an oscar or emmy etc.. for best film - forget it!!!!!! It seems all the boring ones have such awards, although there are the ecceptions, so we do watch those that look promising, but with no expectations.

Juno, is one example of this no doubt - we have to see it as it was set in our new home town, and it looks funny, but it has awards, so no expectations! lmao.

One truly bad movie, that we recently saw was oceans 12 - what the heck was that? OMG what a disapointment.
