discernment?

Postby hawkfeather68 on Thu Nov 13, 2008 3:54 pm

Okay, I just heard the interview with Adam Blai, YIKES! At any rate it got me questioning discernment of spirit. If it is the case that such "creatures" can hear our thoughts, who's to say that any mediumship and spirit communication is actuallly who we think it is?

For some background, I participate in a weekly circle; the things I've heard and felt have been remarkable. We of course ask that we speak to those of the light and in service to the light. I always pray for protection and that God grant me protection in that I cannot gain any information if it is not His will. Geesh is that enough?!

I need real proof, and ask for a lot of information, a lot has been "downloaded" into my head to pass on to others. When reading for others I ask for 1. how they passed 2. a physical description 3. a memory 4. what they did for a living 5. hobbies 6. how they are related to the sitter. Is this proof enough?

I don't do this for money, but to help others and to learn. If anyone else has heard this interview, did you feel it was a leaning towards Catholic dogma at all? He stated that to protect yourself one has to attend church on a regular basis. Your thoughts?

At first I thought this is my Catholic guilt coming out, but I can only see the fruits of what I have done for others, which has all been very helpful and coming from a place of love.

Thanks for your input, much appreciated!

the thing to remember is this: demons and false creatures can mix lies with truths. the best way to be is just skeptical about what you are receiving, get as much information that you can and try to validate.

I heard this line once on a show about a company of marines in Iraq: "Don't let someone piss down your back and tell you it's raining"

No matter how good creatures are at deceiving they will give themselves away if you look hard enough.

Thank you Cayen,

I think you are right. I remember going to a medium quite a while ago. I wanted to become involved locally in my mediumship. I saw a black snake looking thing fly into an office, when in the waiting room. I had no idea it was her office that it flew into at the time. Sure made me doubt everything she said! She was only able to give initials of relatives and a few names, no concreate information or memories. Needless to say, I decided not to pursue any involvement with that person again. Eventually, I'll find where it is needed.

Thanks for reminding me of these types of experiences.

Hugs,
Hawk

My issue with the discernment concept is that it makes people paranoid. Yeah, it doesn't hurt to be cautious, but looking for demons in every corner like some folks do is counterproductive. My theory on the matter is that the percentage of non-physical entities who will try to deceive you is probably the same as the percentage of live humans who try to totally deceive you.
